Find answers to your questions about Anti-Wrinkle Injections here:

There are multiple anti-wrinkle injections, also known as neurotoxins and neuromodulators, on the market today.

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify are all used to treat and prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and deep facial furrows.  These neuromodulators work beneath the surface to help reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes the skin to appear wrinkled or folded.

While these neuromodulators are similar in their action on the muscle, how they are prepared differs slightly.

In an effort to help prevent the development of neurotoxin resistance, we do not carry Botox at Refined Aesthetics. The neurotoxins we provide are: Dysport: one of the fastest acting neurotoxins on the market and a great option for clients with fast metabolisms and strong facial muscles. Xeomin: Also known as the “naked neurotoxin” due to its lack of an accessory protein. Xeomin is comprised of only three ingredients and delivers a very natural result. Daxxify: The fastest acting neurotoxin on the market with some clients seeing results as soon as 24 hours after treatment. When dosed appropriately this neurotoxin has been shown to last 4-5 months.

Neuromodulators work on the muscle(s) it is injected into. When injected into a muscle, the neuromodulator temporarily prevents the muscle from contracting and creating fine lines and wrinkles in the skin.  By relaxing the underlying facial muscles, particularly in areas like the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet, Botox allows us to help you achieve a natural-looking reduction in the appearance of these unwanted lines.

Depending on the neuromodulator used, results can start to kick-in as soon as 2 days after injection and peak results are seen 14 days after initial injection.

There are a variety of locations where neuromodulators can be placed especially in the face including: in between the brows, forehead, crow’s feet, bunny lines, gummy smile, lip flip, downturned smile, dimpling of the chin, and Masseters (to help with TMJ and/or slim the jaw).

We also provide Hyperhydrosis injections (for excessive sweating), playsmal injections (to help tighten the neck), and trapezius injections (to help relieve shoulder/neck tension).

The neuromodulator dosage is dependent upon the area being treated, the intended result, and the lifestyle of the client.

To minimize the toxin from migrating to unwanted areas (which can create eyelid droop (ptosis)) keep upright for 6 hours after the injections.

Avoid the following in the first six hours:

No exercise – any activity that will make you sweat.

No wearing hats – we need to minimize pressure on your face.

No air travel on the same day of treatment.

No hair washing or blow-drying.

No facials or massages.

No showers.

No sunglasses if they apply pressure to the corner of your eyes or if we injected the bridge of your nose.

Find answers to your questions about Dermal Fillers here:

Dermal fillers are an injectable substance used to provide structure and support to an area of volume loss.  At Refined Aesthetics we utilize hyaluronic acid fillers and biostimulant fillers to help turn back the hands of time.

As we age, we naturally lose volume in our face.  This volume loss contributes to folds, wrinkles, thinning lips, hollow eyes, and jowls (to name a few).  Dermal fillers help restore the volume we once had and smooth out wrinkles, folds, and improve cheek contour to keep you looking naturally ageless.

Results from neuromodulators are not permanent and duration is dependent upon many factors including: the dose injected, the product used, the client’s metabolism, and whether the client has started to develop a resistance to the neuromodulator. The effects are long lasting but not permanent. Some people metabolize the filler faster than others contributing to the range of duration.  Depending on the type of filler used and the location it was injected, filler can last anywhere from 8 months to 16 months.

Initially after treatment we request no make-up on the skin.  We send you home with a bruise cream to help decrease bruising, swelling, and risk of infection.

Bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness are the most commonly reported side effects.

Due to the risk of bruising and swelling, we recommend giving yourself a 2-week grace period before any special events.

Please avoid dental cleanings and any vaccines two weeks before and two weeks after filler treatment to help decrease the risk of infection.

PRP Microneedling utilizes your own plasma to help stimulate collagen, elastin, and fibrin production.  The benefits of this treatment include stimulating cell turnover, improved skin tone and texture, decreased pore size, and brighter skin.  This service is a wonderful option to help diminish acne scarring and surgical scars as well.

We apply a numbing cream to your face to help make this process as painless as possible.

Best results are seen after a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.  After the initial series of treatments, results are maintained with a treatment every 3-4 months.

While this is a phenomenal treatment, results are not immediately visible.  Three days after your treatment your skin will be glowing and three months after treatment is when your results will be noticeable.

VI chemical peels can address a variety of skin concerns with one application due to their multi-acid formulation.  We recommend chemical peels for clients with hyperpigmentation (sun spots), melasma, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, acne scarring, and loss of elasticity.  While many clients report excellent results after their first treatment, it may take 3-4 VI chemical peels for optimal results.

The chemical peels we utilized at Refined Aesthetics have phenol in them which acts as an anesthetic.  Our clients report minimal discomfort with the application of our chemical peel.

Most people report glowing skin 1 week after their initial treatment.  For optimum results, we advise a minimum of three peels performed every 4 weeks.
